Welcome to Morristown Central School!

Dear Students, Families, and Community Members:
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! As we begin a new year, I am proud to share some of the amazing accomplishments your students and our staff have achieved together during the 2024 - 2025 school year.
What We’ve Accomplished Together:
- Our students continue to improve on state assessments, with a 5% increase in overall proficiency for Grades 3–8 and a 2.4% increase in high-level Regents mastery.
- In math, 58% of students reached proficiency, and ELA proficiency increased to 40%.
- Our youngest learners showed tremendous growth in early reading skills, with 20% gains in phonemic awareness and strong results from our new literacy initiatives.
- Chronic absenteeism in our district is now significantly lower than the state average, thanks to your partnership and our shared focus on the importance of being at school every day.
Our Commitment to Growth:
- We hold regular data meetings to ensure every student’s needs are met and to adjust instruction as necessary.
- New curriculum resources and specialized instruction mean your student benefits from focused, expert teaching.
- We recognize and celebrate student achievement and attendance with honor roll celebrations, special field trips, and fun competitions like the March Madness Attendance Challenge.
Looking Ahead:
- We will continue to partner with you to ensure your student’s success and well-being.
- Our staff is committed to using the latest data and best practices to support every learner.
- You will receive regular updates on your student’s progress and our school’s achievements throughout the year. As a result, please be sure to set up ParentSquare for timely and important communication from teachers, staff, and the school district.
Reminders:
- Our Open House & Back-to-School Bash will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. As in previous years, school supplies have been provided and will be in classrooms. Additionally, community organizations will be set up in the gymnasium to welcome and support families.
- The first day of school is Thursday, September 4th
Thank you for your ongoing support and for entrusting us with your student’s education. Together, let’s make 2025-2026 an incredible year of learning, growth, and celebration!
Sincerely,
Mr. Corey A. Flynn, Building Principal
