Welcome to Morristown Central School!

Welcome to Morristown Central School District, home of the Green Rockets! We are a small, rural district situated along the St. Lawrence River and Black Lake of approximately 360 students.  Our mission is to prepare all students to confidently and competently pursue their goals and for them to demonstrate ethical responsibility in the world around them.  Our school community is committed to continually striving for improvement to meet the changing needs of our students, staff, and families. To do this, we seek to build strong connections with our students, families, staff, and community.

Communication between school and stakeholders is an essential component to the success of our mission and goals.  Because we believe this, we invite you to communicate and share examples of successes as well as concerns by contacting the school by phone or via email.  I am certain, with your help, we will be able to work together to provide a welcoming and safe environment that challenges students to develop, explore, and grow as students and people.  My goals are to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to build positive relationships, recognize and capitalize on our strengths, and collectively work to help students find success at school and beyond.  I believe all students can find success if we make decisions with them in mind.

As part of our effort to improve communication, we have reworked our Parents/Community Resource page on our school website.  However, should you find yourself in need of help or with questions that cannot be answered by utilizing this page, please do not hesitate to reach out to someone; the greatest part about our school is the network of professionals who all want to support you and your student(s).  This, I believe, is what makes our school community such a great place.

At Morristown Central, we are fortunate to have strong home to school connection and support, a network of caring professionals, and students who are committed to their learning. I look forward to continuing the strong connections that already exist at Morristown Central School District and working to create new opportunities to further strengthen it and foster student success. Student attendance is another important part of student success.  Research shows that students who are regularly in attendance outperform peers who are chronically absent, which is defined as missing 10% or more of days school is in session.  As such, please help us support your student by encouraging your student(s) to arrive on time and be present on days school is in session.

Sincerely,

Mr. Corey A. Flynn, Building Principal
