Superintendent
Welcome to the Morristown Central School District!

August 22, 2022
Dear Morristown Central School Students, Staff, Parents, and Community Members:
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting memories with your loved ones. As your Superintendent, I am excited to welcome everyone to a new and exciting school year with many familiar staff faces and a few new ones who have joined our MCS Team. Over the last two months our administrative, guidance, clerical, and custodial staff have been working tirelessly on scheduling, building repairs, maintenance, and many classroom “facelifts” to be ready for September. I want to personally thank all the staff who have been working this summer in the District and those who have been attending workshops and meeting with grade-level teams to plan the next school year.
We have weathered the storm of remote learning during the onset of the pandemic and have conquered two years of educating our students during a pandemic in a combination of in-person and remote as needed. It is only appropriate now that we build on our successful work over the last two years and set the stage for the year ahead. We are determined to deliver exceptional academic instruction to our Morristown students, and we will continue to focus on social-emotional learning and community building. Our administrative team will be leading with a focus on reconnecting, rethinking and rejuvenating our practices this year.
I deeply believe in a quality and comprehensive education for all students. I take very seriously that you have entrusted the young people of this community to our care and expect our exceptional staff to give their best day in and day out. Relationships are critical to success in schools, and I look forward to seeing positive and healthy relationships between staff and students.
My mission as your Superintendent is to maintain and grow a rigorous teaching and learning environment that provides every student with a sense of belonging, while helping students to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. It is critical to every student's success that they graduate from high school with the skills necessary to pursue and achieve their goals and dreams.
I’m looking forward to the year ahead! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me.
Sincerely,
Staci A. Vaughn
Superintendent
