A handful of Morristown students, parents, and staff spent part of their summer vacation exploring the incredible sites throughout Greece.
The trip was planned through EF Tours, an educational travel company made for teachers and their students. Our group of MCS travelers were able to see Delphi, Arachova, Marathon Beach, Corinth, Nafplio, Tolo, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Kourouta Beach, Sounion, and Piraeus.
“From watching the sunrise after an overnight flight into Athens to standing where the Olympic Games were born, every stop reminded us that Greece isn't just a destination—it's a living history book,” said Principal Corey Flynn, who accompanied students on the 9-day trip.
Flynn added a phrase they heard often throughout the trip was, “Σιγά σιγά (Siga, Siga),” which translates to, “slowly, slowly.” It was a reminder to slow down, enjoy the moment, and appreciate where you are.
Highlights of the trip included getting a closer look at ancient Greek temples such as the Parthenon, sampling some amazing food, swimming in the Aegean Sea, making pottery, learning about Greek dancing, and participating in an olive oil tasting!
