Financial Aid

"Applying for financial aid is fun and easy," said no one, ever. But, don't worry - the Guidance Office is here to help. Recently, state and federal governments have made the process easier for parents and students to apply for financial aid. Here is some information to get you started:

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
This is the application that all students seeking higher education should complete in order to receive Federal Student Aid (Federal Grants and Student Loans). Don't miss out - apply early! FAFSA Applications open in the Fall and are due in early Spring. Start by going to https://studentaid.gov/ to learn about the Financial Aid Process.

NYS Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
This program offers state financial aid for students in need. Students should complete this application for additional State funding towards higher education. The Key to TAP is to apply early! To learn more about the program, visit HESC - TAP.

Excelsior Scholarship
This scholarship application from NYS helps students cover the costs of tuition at any SUNY or CUNY College or University. You are required to complete both the FAFSA and TAP Applications prior to scholarship consideration. This application is typically available in Spring.
